Culinary Skills VR Learning Gains Beat Real-World Practice
The Transfr team devised a study to measure the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) culinary skills simulations versus real-world practice. Participants learned one task via either VR or act-out and the other task via the other method. They returned after an interval of 1-5 days (mean period was 2.4 days) and were evaluated on their ability to successfully perform the steps of each simulated task.
For both tasks, scores for the VR condition were significantly higher than in the act-out condition.
