Help learners quickly build foundational skills and knowledge, and prepare for a career in industrial maintenance.
The Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician Pre-Employment Program is a multimodal program designed alongside industry experts. Learners will develop foundational skills for common maintenance practices, including industrial component identification and inspection, safety best practices, and interview readiness.
The Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician program is mapped to industry-recognized competencies and OSHA-10 General Industry standards, ensuring learners are developing the skills employers expect and safety knowledge they require.
(1 Lesson)
Learners recognize course expectations, structure, and grading requirements while identifying how to access VR simulations and headset information.
(2 Lessons)
Learners identify the role of a mechanical industrial maintenance technician and recall common tasks, responsibilities, employability skills, and career growth opportunities.
(10 Lessons)
Learners identify common workplace safety measures and select appropriate PPE for industrial maintenance tasks while recognizing safety precautions for electrical, fire, respiratory, chemical, bloodborne pathogen, lifting, height, ladder, and machine guarding hazards.
(7 Lessons)
Learners explain the importance of maintenance and identify key techniques, schedules, and documentation requirements while gaining skills and knowledge in electrical fundamentals, precision measurement, welding safety, and rigging basics.
(11 Lessons)
Learners identify various industrial components (gaskets, valves, chain drives, belt drives, bearings, gears, pumps), explain their functions and importance, perform sensory inspections, and identify appropriate installation and repair tools.
(2 Lessons)
Learners identify key parts of a well-written mechanical industrial maintenance technician resume and understand interview strategies specific to the field.
The Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician Pre-Employment Program helps workforce boards and community-based organizations streamline the path to employability and apprenticeship programs.
Accelerate technical skill development so participants can quickly fill critical maintenance and repair roles across industries.
Participants can complete simulations from any location with WiFi—no need for access to costly machinery or training labs.
With guidance from a digital coach, learners gain confidence in troubleshooting systems and handling equipment before stepping onto the warehouse floor.
Pre-Employment Programs can be rolled out without a subject matter expert or any previous experience with VR, and a facilitator toolkit can help guide your implementation
The Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician Pre-Employment Program is included within the All Access and Manufacturing Construction licenses from Transfr. Please reach out to Transfr to discuss the best solution for your organization’s training needs.
Learners can earn three microcredentials in Industrial Workplace Safety, Hand Tools, and Power Tools. Additionally, learners earn a certificate of completion, issued by Transfr, upon completion of the program.
To run the Mechanical Industrial Maintenance Technician Pre-Employment Program, organizations must have a compatible VR headset and Transfr license. Internet access is also required for both VR and online components.
The e-learning content in the program follows WCAG AA standards, and closed captioning is available in all the simulations used in the program.
Complete the form and someone from our team will reach out, answer questions, and share why Transfr is the leading partner with schools, workforce development teams, and community non-profits to help learners get on a pathway to upward mobility.
